In celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the release of Physical Graffiti: Lez Zeppelin presents: Physical Graffiti in its Entirety - a Multimedia Concert Experience
October 10, 2024 (New York, N.Y.) In honor of the 50th anniversary of the release of Led Zeppelin’s legendary double album, Physical Graffiti, Lez Zeppelin, the world renown all-female rock ensemble, presents: Physical Graffiti in its entirety, an immersive multimedia concert experience. Released in February of 1975, the epic double album captures the mighty Led Zeppelin at the peak of its creativity, power and prowess. Simply put, it is the album everyone wants to hear!
Recorded between July of 1970 and February 1974 at the famously gothic Headley Grange, the album was a commercial and critical success and remains a monument to the band in the glory of its heyday. Featuring numbers such as Kashmir, In My Time of Dying, Ten Years Gone and Trampled Under Foot, to name a few, the record moves between rock, prog, country, knee-slappin’ bluegrass and funk for a complete journey in sound and style. Lez Zeppelin, a group of four virtuosic musicians, deliver all fifteen songs with nuance and intensity in a manner that audiences across the world have agreed captures the essence -- not only the notes -- of Zeppelin’s magic. Accompanied by a provocative and uniquely curated multimedia presentation, the concert is a unforgettable journey into what can only be described as a Meta-Physical Graffiti.
About Lez Zeppelin:
Founded in 2004 by New York guitarist, Steph Paynes, the all-girl quartet, Lez Zeppelin, has since gained unanimous critical acclaim as one of the most exciting live acts around, becoming the first female rock act to pay homage to Led Zeppelin and to garner rave reviews across the board. Lez Zeppelin stays true to the musically audacious spirit of the original band, delivering blistering arrangements and monstrous sound note-for-note at sold-out frenzied shows around the world. In June 2013, Jimmy Page attended their show in London and said of the group, “they played the Led Zeppelin music with an extraordinary sensuality and an energy and passion that highlighted their superb musicianship.”
Since Lez Zeppelin’s formation in 2004, the group has broken both glass and class ceilings. The group has recorded three full-length albums, Lez Zeppelin, which was produced by legendary engineer/producer, Eddie Kramer (Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, KISS); Lez Zeppelin I, a jaw-dropping remake of Led Zeppelin’s first album, which was recorded using the same vintage gear; and The Island of Skyros, which features the band with the addition of a string quartet. The band has appeared at major rock festivals including the Isle of Wight, Bonnaroo, Hellfest, Download and more; and has been featured on many major media outlets, including the BBC, CNN, ABC, CBS, MTV, Sirius XM, VH-1, and NPR. At the recommendation of Jimmy Page, the band was asked to perform a concert in 2019 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art to celebrate the wildly popular exhibit, Play it Loud, Instruments of Rock and Roll.
The thing that sets Lez Zeppelin apart from the others is the unique power, personality and magical force that is far beyond that of a “tribute” act. SPIN magazine called them “the most powerful all-female band in rock history.”
