Event Details
Morrissey is an English singer and songwriter. He gained prominence as the frontman and lyricist of the rock band The Smiths, who were active from 1982 to 1987. After the band’s breakup, Morrissey embarked on a successful solo career. His music is characterized by his baritone voice, distinctive lyrics, and recurring themes of emotional isolation, sexual longing, dark humor, and anti-establishment stances. Born in Davyhulme, Lancashire, England, to working-class Irish immigrants, Morrissey grew up in nearby Stretford. As a child, he developed a love for literature, kitchen sink realism, and 1960s pop music. His solo albums, including Viva Hate, Your Arsenal, and Vauxhall and I, achieved chart success in the UK. His image evolved from a sexually ambiguous social outsider to a burlier figure embracing patriotic imagery and working-class masculinity
